Martino Ureta came free with the goalkeeper in the 4th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Nereo Arrate could save by the left post. Martino Ureta took the ball and in the 6 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nereo Arrate. Nereo Arrate dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Marino Somoza showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Velasco Navarrete in the 11th minute of the match. Paulín Larraguibel sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nereo Arrate stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eliazar Guajardo's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Martino Ureta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Nereo Arrate tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 24 played minutes Mulchen got a freekick which was hit by Adrián Landon. When MERIDA FC's Eliazar Guajardo in the 25th minute got a chance for a shot 25th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Mulchen's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, MERIDA FC's Nestor Garzón got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 35th minute, Adrián Landon got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Marino Somoza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adrián Landon, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Nereo Arrate made an important save on a dangerous shot by Martino Ureta in the 41st minute. Marino Somoza made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Velasco Navarrete in the 43rd minute of play. Nereo Arrate showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Paulín Larraguibel in the 49th minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Adrián Landon to strike the kick off in the second half. If Adrián Landon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Martino Ureta sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Juan Alberto Ahrens hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Mulchen's Nereo Arrate played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eliazar Guajardo in the 90th minute of play. In the 96th minute, Martino Ureta left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MERIDA FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. MERIDA FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
