Spectators: 7992 (Terracing: 5995, Seating: 1838, VIP seats: 159) An unexpected shot in the 5th minute by Luis Javier Martin got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Julio Larrea was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 10 minutes into the match. 9 minutes into the game, one of Guanequilca FC:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Amancio Frick went to the wrong direction when Pedro Manuel Grez was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. After a rather tough play, Guanequilca FC's Silvino Barreau got a free kick in the 12th minute. Amancio Frick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Javier Martin in the 20th minute of play. Luis Javier Martin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amancio Frick having to make a save. In the 24th minute, Amadeo Rivadeneira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amancio Frick took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Javier Martin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Club Deportivo Maipú's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Pedro Manuel Grez in the 27th minute. A well done corner resulted in Salomón Oñate drilling the ball in to score 1-0 behind Guanequilca FC's goalkeeper. Mikel Albonico sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 40 minutes into the match, Guanequilca FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Javier Martin came free, but Amancio Frick reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Javier Martin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Amancio Frick having to interfere. If Mikel Albonico had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Manuel Grez during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Club Deportivo Maipú getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Pedro Manuel Grez hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Guanequilca FC defense, Luis Javier Martin kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Amancio Frick. The Guanequilca FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Amancio Frick should have stopped the shot. When Luis Javier Martin came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Club Deportivo Maipú fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luis Javier Martin couldn't finish the play. When the match clock showed 74 minutes, the score became 4-0 when Luis Javier Martin sped through Guanequilca FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Amancio Frick. Amancio Frick made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikel Albonico in the 92nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Guanequilca FC's zone, Luis Javier Martin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amancio Frick came out of the goal and Luis Javier Martin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luis Javier Martin received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Amancio Frick tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Club Deportivo Maipú's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
