Melozal's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sacaya the free kick. After a rather tough play, Melozal's Vicente Asenjo got a free kick in the 31st minute. When Ceandro Albis in the 34th play minute got the chance to kick a hard shot on goal from short distance neither the defense or Jimmy Björkdahl kept up with the ball and suddenly the score was 2-0 when the ball slipped into goal inside the left pole. Matteo Gorostizaga's late challenge caught a Melozal's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matteo Gorostizaga helped the player get up and apologised. In the 37th minute, Matteo Gorostizaga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jimmy Björkdahl made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ceandro Albis in the 39th minute of play. In the 43rd minute, Sacaya's Ceandro Albis ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jimmy Björkdahl. Jimmy Björkdahl yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. When Xaiver Iturbe fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Sacaya's protests and gave Xaiver Iturbe a yellow card for diving instead. In the 46th minute, Xaiver Iturbe hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The wind increased when Cornelio Aguilera made the kick off in the second half. If Ermegildo Zubiete had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. Sacaya's Ceandro Albis managed to work through Melozal's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Ceandro Albis dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Sacaya's Ceandro Albis got a good chance for a goal in the 85th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Sacaya fans' excitement grew in the 90th match minute when Sacaya's Ceandro Albis looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Melozal's Jimmy Björkdahl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ermegildo Zubiete in the 96th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sacaya had won after a very even match.
