Spectators: 7985 (Terracing: 5990, Seating: 1836, VIP seats: 159) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rıfat İşbilir started the match with the kick off. When Igon Olivares fell near the penalty area in the 5th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored COLO-COLO's protests and gave Igon Olivares a yellow card for diving instead. After 5 played minutes COLO-COLO got a freekick which was hit by Igon Olivares. Lumaco's Cerilo Naviedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Iturralde in the 8th minute of play. 10 minutes into the game, Firmín Angosto recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Rigoberto Barcelo. Firmín Angosto showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. After 13 played minutes Lumaco got a freekick which was hit by Firmín Angosto. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ludovico Aguiar in the 14th minute of play forced Lumaco's goalkeeper Cerilo Naviedes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute, Anselmo Iturralde ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cerilo Naviedes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Cerilo Naviedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Anselmo Iturralde in the 20th minute of play. Edgardo Viveross short, quick shot in the 26thth minute got Rigoberto Barcelo to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Cerilo Naviedes came out of the goal in the 30th minute to try and stop a shot by COLO-COLO's Anselmo Iturralde. But to his dismay, Anselmo Iturralde quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Mariano Figari fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rigoberto Barcelo having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Evelio Evar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lumaco's Cerilo Naviedes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anselmo Iturralde in the 47th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

In the 51st minute, Igon Olivares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rigoberto Barcelo came out of the goal in the 53rd minute to try and stop a shot by Lumaco's Rıfat İşbilir. But to his dismay, Rıfat İşbilir quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. In the 60th minute Narciso Rivadeneira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cerilo Naviedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. COLO-COLO's Rigoberto Barcelo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rıfat İşbilir in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgardo Viveros in the 63rd minute of play forced COLO-COLO's goalkeeper Rigoberto Barcelo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 65 minutes into the match, COLO-COLO's goal looked a bit too open when Rıfat İşbilir came free, but Rigoberto Barcelo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 74th minute, Hermenegildo Danitz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The COLO-COLO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-4. In the 81st minute Edgardo Viveros shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rigoberto Barcelo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rigoberto Barcelo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Viveros, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to COLO-COLO getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Hermenegildo Danitz hit a great ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. COLO-COLO walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
