The supporters of Zuniga booed when 1868 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rollo Jaime didn't get a good kick on the ball. Josías Oquendo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Baesler having to interfere. Feliberto Tirado hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Javiero Cantuarias in the 8th minute of play forced 1868's goalkeeper Máximo Baesler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Javiero Cantuarias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Máximo Baesler tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Rollo Jaime had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 12 played minutes Zuniga got a freekick which was hit by Uriel Fanta. Rollo Jaime sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A hard shot 15 in the game by Nicodemo Lillo from a close distance when the talented Demetrio Huaiquiman managed to make a qualified save. Zuniga's players were relieved. Máximo Baesler didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nauzet Matute went, in the 20th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Josías Oquendo charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Josías Oquendo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The attack was good, but when Josías Oquendo in the 47th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.
Demetrio Huaiquiman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Henrico Cavada, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. When Rollo Jaime came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the 1868 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rollo Jaime couldn't finish the play. Nicodemo Lillo scored 1-2 in the 59th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Demetrio Huaiquiman, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 61st minute, Rollo Jaime hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, 1868's Máximo Baesler got control of the ball when Josías Oquendo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 66th minute Apolo Galdames shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Demetrio Huaiquiman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zuniga's Demetrio Huaiquiman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicodemo Lillo in the 79th minute of play. If Henrico Cavada had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zuniga's Feliberto Tirado got his second yellow card of the match in the 81st minute. The referee ordered Feliberto Tirado off the ground. After a rather tough play, Zuniga's Feliberto Tirado got a free kick in the 81st minute. Nicodemo Lillo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Demetrio Huaiquiman having to interfere. After 84 minutes, Javiero Cantuarias mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zuniga and the 1868 players grew even worse after the yellow card. Demetrio Huaiquiman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicodemo Lillo in the 85th minute of play. 1868's Máximo Baesler proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 88th minute of the match, managed to save 1868 from getting a goal against them. When 1868's Nicodemo Lillo in the 91st minute got a chance for a shot 91st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Zuniga's goalie prevented a goal. The 1868 supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Zuniga's performance. The match ended with a win for Zuniga.
