Blackpool FC's Norberto Waugh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldinho Gaúcho in the 4th minute of play. Norberto Waugh came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by P L A C I J A Z Z's Conrado Word. But to his dismay, Conrado Word quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Ronaldinho Gaúcho managed to get in a good position for a shot. P L A C I J A Z Z's supporters rose to their feet, but Ronaldinho Gaúcho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Norberto Waugh breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Norberto Waugh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rómulo Acevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 14 minutes into the game, P L A C I J A Z Z's Conrado Word nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Norberto Waugh made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ariel Mas hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. 19 minutes into the match, Blackpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Conrado Word came free, but Norberto Waugh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The throw-in from Luis Alberto Duncker in the 22nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Blackpool FC's Ricardo Evans. Bermejo Bulboa kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. 24 minutes into the match, Conrado Word had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Norberto Waugh. Blackpool FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Conrado Word was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With 30 minutes on the clock, Daniel Tolhauzsen commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. A collision led to P L A C I J A Z Z getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Daniel Tolhauzsen hit a great ball. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind P L A C I J A Z Z's goalkeeper Nestor León, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 34 minutes into the match, Bermejo Bulboa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Nestor León, 1-3. In the 36th minute, Maurilio Cabello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 39th minute, Rómulo Acevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 42nd match minute, Blackpool FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bermejo Bulboa to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, P L A C I J A Z Z's Nestor León got control of the ball when Francisco Antonio Cacho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Norberto Waugh showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ronaldinho Gaúcho, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Ronaldinho Gaúcho to strike the kick off in the second half. Norberto Waugh made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Ronaldinho Gaúcho sent off a good shot on target. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Florín Aliste during the 56th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ronaldinho Gaúcho in the 61st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Norberto Waugh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as P L A C I J A Z Z's Diego Rivarola slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Norberto Waugh. That made the score 1-4 after 64 minutes of play. With his leg Norberto Waugh managed to avoid a goal in the 67thth minute, when P L A C I J A Z Z's Ronaldinho Gaúcho fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Through an outstanding action, after 70 minutes, Norberto Waugh successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. A collision led to Blackpool FC getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Jerardo Piña hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, P L A C I J A Z Z's Ariel Mas got a free kick in the 73rd minute. 76 minutes into the match, Blackpool FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ronaldinho Gaúcho came free, but Norberto Waugh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Blackpool FC defense, Ronaldinho Gaúcho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Norberto Waugh. The Blackpool FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Norberto Waugh should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Florín Aliste in the 83rd minute of play forced P L A C I J A Z Z's goalkeeper Nestor León to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With an all-out effort, P L A C I J A Z Z's Norberto Waugh threw himself towards the right post 87 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rómulo Acevedo, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 89 minutes, Igon Mozo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blackpool FC and the P L A C I J A Z Z players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 89th minute of the game. One of Blackpool FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of P L A C I J A Z Z:s goal. The goalkeeper, Norberto Waugh, was totally fooled by P L A C I J A Z Z's Alessandro Devilat, who 90 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. If Rómulo Acevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Florín Aliste scored 2-6 in the 96th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nestor León, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the final whistle sounded P L A C I J A Z Z left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Blackpool FC.
