When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Xaiver Besa made a kick off. The supporters of Real Santiago booed when The Celestial Lion was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Germán Asendegui didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Vincent Alström had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 56 minutes, Quintán Torrijos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Real Santiago and the The Celestial Lion players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Quintán Torrijos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafa Jackson got free with Alejandro Seme in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The Celestial Lion's Yüksel Karadeniz got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Celestial Lion's Alberto Poletti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Quintán Torrijos in the 72nd minute of play. When Yüksel Karadeniz came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the The Celestial Lion fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Yüksel Karadeniz couldn't finish the play. 95 minutes into the match, Aureo Sandoval notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of The Celestial Lion's Alberto Poletti. Alberto Poletti was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Real Santiago fully deserved thier win.
