An unexpectedly hard shot by Orlondón Mac Millan in the 22nd minute of play forced HellFire FC's goalkeeper Tudor Vrednic to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Siluna San Miguel was a little too slow when Abelado Camara got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 26th minute. The score was now 1-0. When Osvaldo Pruniel came up free with the goalie in the 30th minute, the U de Chile fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Osvaldo Pruniel couldn't finish the play. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind HellFire FC's goalkeeper Tudor Vrednic, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the HellFire FC defense, Orlondón Mac Millan kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tudor Vrednic. The HellFire FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tudor Vrednic should have stopped the shot. Ismael Menart's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Siluna San Miguel firmly grabbed it by the left post. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Abelado Camara stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the U de Chile players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
