Spectators: 7309 (Terracing: 6309, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Universidad Catolica's Codruț Paraschivescu started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes, Xavi Abusleme mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the U de Chile and the Universidad Catolica players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, U de Chile's Xavi Abusleme got a free kick in the 4th minute. After 5 played minutes, Universidad Catolica's Codruț Paraschivescu shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Siluna San Miguel came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Universidad Catolica reached it. Siluna San Miguel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Paraschivescu in the 6th minute of the match. In the 7th minute, Codruț Paraschivescu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Siluna San Miguel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Codruț Paraschivescu in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Siluna San Miguel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Codruț Paraschivescu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 17 minutes of play, U de Chile's José Alejandro Huaiquipan made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Saturnino Birila was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 24 minutes, Codruț Paraschivescu made it 1-3 with a short kick to the right side. U de Chile's Siluna San Miguel tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Codruț Paraschivescu took the ball and in the 26 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Siluna San Miguel. Siluna San Miguel dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-4. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Alejandro Huaiquipan in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Saturnino Birila saved Universidad Catolica from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 44 minutes, Codruț Paraschivescu put it in 1-5 from a short distance just to the right of Siluna San Miguel. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Alejandro Huaiquipan in the 47th minute of play forced Universidad Catolica's goalkeeper Saturnino Birila to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The U de Chile players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Universidad Catolica were winning 1-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell José Alejandro Huaiquipan to make the kick off. Codruț Paraschivescu's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 51stth minute, Siluna San Miguel skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Saturnino Birila made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from José Alejandro Huaiquipan in the 54th minute of play. In the 57th minute José Alejandro Huaiquipan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Birila saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 59th match minute, U de Chile was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Osvaldo Pruniel to maneuver through the defense. Laurín Aparicio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Siluna San Miguel having to interfere. Saturnino Birila took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Orlondón Mac Millan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Siluna San Miguel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Codruț Paraschivescu in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th minute, Paulín Burgos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pau Phillips hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. In the 75th minute of the match Cerilo Huechun shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Siluna San Miguel showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 81st minute, Codruț Paraschivescu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a rather tough play, U de Chile's Alfredo Herzell got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Codruț Paraschivescu did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-6 to the left of a surprised Siluna San Miguel 86 minutes into the match. Siluna San Miguel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Codruț Paraschivescu in the 94th minute. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Universidad Catolica walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
