Rambo Ramírez made an important save on a dangerous shot by Andolín Echeandía in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Andolín Echeandía got free with Rambo Ramírez in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Colo-Colo's Carlitos Caszely was substituted for Pablo Solari. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rubén Martínez was the one to do the kick off. If Rubén Martínez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 56th minute, Andolín Echeandía left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lautaro L.P. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Carlitos Caszely hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the match, Colo-Colo's goal looked a bit too open when Andolín Echeandía came free, but Rambo Ramírez reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ivo Basay in the 85th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Salvador Ortega prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Rambo Ramírez came out of the goal in the 94th minute to try and stop a shot by Lautaro L.P.'s Damián Angulo. But to his dismay, Damián Angulo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Lautaro L.P. were awarded a corner in the 98th minute after Colo-Colo's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Reşit Beyan took the corner. Reşit Beyan made a great header on Lautaro L.P.'s corner, it was just that Colo-Colo's Rambo Ramírez managed to reach the ball for a save. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Lautaro L.P. had won after a very even match.
