Kurt Gerdberg hit a great ball. After 21 played minutes Spartans FC got a freekick which was hit by Amado Dagorret. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felipo Navarrete got free with Haroldas Strazdas in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dennis Trillkott made in the 30th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Eustacio Casos however managed to control. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Guerra in the 31st minute of play forced Toqui Fc's goalkeeper Tigran Khachaturyan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute Felipo Navarrete shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Haroldas Strazdas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Amado Dagorret came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Spartans FC fans jumped to their feet. Spartans FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Toqui Fc the free kick. The supporters of Toqui Fc booed when Spartans FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Izaguirre didn't get a good kick on the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Luiz Massa to make the kick off.
