The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eladio Ulloa in the 3rd minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Eulalio Callejas could shoot a difficult shot in the 8th minute, which Clemente Savier however easily saved by the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esequiel Dohrmann in the 12th minute of play forced ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes had been played when some careless play by ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Waclaw Dombrowski was slow to take the kick. During this time Ballet Azul's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Waclaw Dombrowski got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Clemente Savier quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The supporters of Ballet Azul booed when ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ubarna Marcos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Eulalio Callejas's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Clemente Savier firmly grabbed it by the left post. Eulalio Callejas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Clemente Savier having to interfere. When the match clock showed 22 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Eladio Ulloa sped through ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Clemente Savier. José Luis Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristopher Damian, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 27th minute, Beso Negro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th minute the ball was on its way in behind ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s goalkeeper Clemente Savier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Cristopher Damian made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the match, Ubarna Marcos got a very nice opportunity to score, but José Luis Chilavert was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Rodrigo Barrera fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Luis Chilavert having to interfere. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ made a substitution. Marcelo Salas replaced Cristopher Damian. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Ferenc Angyal was substituted for Rodrigo Barrera. Clemente Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from René Puente in the 64th minute of the match. Clemente Savier came out of the goal and Eladio Ulloa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Waclaw Dombrowski recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 76th minute Eladio Ulloa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Clemente Savier saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Clemente Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eladio Ulloa in the 81st minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s zone, René Puente stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Clemente Savier came out of the goal and René Puente tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eladio Ulloa in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente Savier saved ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣ from getting behind. ☣ⓇⓄⒸⓀⒺⓉ   -⃝ⓅⓄⓌⒺⓇ☣'s Clemente Savier played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Odín Enríquez in the 89th minute of play. Clemente Savier showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eladio Ulloa in the 91st minute of the match.
