Waldir Sergipano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 21st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Benjamin Pimenta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Júlio Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 27th minute. Jorge de Carvalho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Pedro Nascimento in the 30th minute of the match. Júlio Figueiredo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. The referee showed Rodrigo Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 73 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Estremoz! After 84 played minutes, Mariricu's Sílvio Luís Travassos shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jorge de Carvalho came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mariricu reached it. Márcio Zanette hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 88 minutes, Jorge de Carvalho successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jorge de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldir Sergipano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 91st minute, Rubinho Senna got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Júlio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mariricu would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
