After taking down the ball on Tomahawk's corner Narciso Queiroz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Willian França quite easily take care of the ball. Marcos Botelho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Richard Queiroz came out and tried to block the shot, but Marcos Botelho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 46th minute. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Marcos Botelho made the kick off in the second half. Richard Queiroz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Botelho in the 52nd minute of play. Claudinho de Alcântara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Claudinho de Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Robinho Pombal during the 63rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
