Edson Toscano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Otávio Abreu in the 4th minute of play. 5 minutes into the match, Arapa's Álvaro Tasso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Edson Mandrak narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Edson Mandrak was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Afonso Rocha showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-0 in the 8 minute of play. In the 13th minute, Erivaldo Hoffmann reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Edson Mandrak. The goal made the score 2-0. Otávio Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Edson Mandrak showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Afonso Rocha, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Edson Toscano didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alberto Illart went, in the 33rd minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Illart in the 36th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Edson Toscano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 37th minute Chicão Pontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Edson Toscano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 45 minutes into the game, Gualter de Salles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Arapa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmares do Sul FC the free kick. After 45 played minutes Arapa got a freekick which was hit by Gualter de Salles. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 3-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afonso Rocha made a kick off. Alberto Illart's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 53rdth minute, Edson Toscano skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Edson Toscano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chicão Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. Arapa's Edson Toscano proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 56th minute of the match, managed to save Arapa from getting a goal against them. In the 58th minute, Palmares do Sul FC's Marlon Santos seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Marlon Santos the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Palmares do Sul FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Marlon Santos had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 59th match minute, Palmares do Sul FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marlon Santos to maneuver through the defense. 64 minutes into the match, Arapa's goal looked a bit too open when Chicão Pontes came free, but Edson Toscano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Arapa's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Chicão Pontes 67 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Rocha in the 70th minute of play forced Palmares do Sul FC's goalkeeper Edson Mandrak to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edson Mandrak took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonso Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 75th minute, Chicão Pontes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Eliseu do Nascimento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A well placed Márcio Perez short distance shot in the 79th minute ended with a hard ball which without a chance for the goalkeeper went staright up into the goalkeepers left cross. With a little luck, Arapa's Edson Toscano got control of the ball when Otávio Abreu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Eliseu do Nascimento fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Edson Toscano having to interfere. In the 86th minute the ball was on its way in behind Arapa's goalkeeper Edson Toscano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Otávio Abreu could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 89th minute of the match, but Edson Toscano made a huge save. If Chicão Pontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Otávio Abreu recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience was convinced that Otávio Abreu's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Edson Toscano was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. Chicão Pontes struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Edson Toscano didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmares do Sul FC. Palmares do Sul FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
