An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Ramalho in the 5th minute of play forced Varginha EC's goalkeeper Samuel Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 10 minutes into the match, Varginha EC's goal looked a bit too open when Horácio Ramalho came free, but Samuel Corrêa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Emerson Guimarães's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Silvinho Monteiro was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Emerson Guimarães recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Emerson Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varginha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 22 minutes, Amílton do Vale managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Varginha EC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Amílton do Vale was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Emerson Guimarães managed to get in a good position for a shot. Varginha EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Emerson Guimarães was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Silvinho Monteiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 顾亮源 took the ball and in the 28 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Silvinho Monteiro. Silvinho Monteiro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Ipua's zone, Emerson Guimarães stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Silvinho Monteiro came out of the goal and Emerson Guimarães tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gustavo de Sousa's late challenge caught a Varginha EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo de Sousa helped the player get up and apologised. In the 40th minute, Gustavo de Sousa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hamílton Linhares's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvinho Monteiro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Emerson Guimarães was extremely unlucky when he, in the 42nd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Varginha EC's 顾亮源 got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Silvinho Monteiro didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Emerson Guimarães went, in the 45th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-1 was the resulting score.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Horácio Ramalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute of the game Fabinho de Toledo made a throw-in which Sidnei Silva played forward. Gustavo de Sousa got his second yellow card in the match during the 60th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Gustavo de Sousa kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Emerson Guimarães spun around in front of the goal 62 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Ipua's goal. 63 minutes into the match, 顾亮源 notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Ipua's Silvinho Monteiro. Silvinho Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Amílton do Vale came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Varginha EC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Amílton do Vale couldn't finish the play. When Varginha EC's Amílton do Vale in the 85th minute got a chance for a shot 85th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ipua's goalie prevented a goal. 86 minutes into the match, Ipua's goal looked a bit too open when Emerson Guimarães came free, but Silvinho Monteiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Emerson Guimarães struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Silvinho Monteiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Varginha EC. When Varginha EC's Emerson Guimarães in the 89th minute got a chance for a shot 89th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ipua's goalie prevented a goal. Gabriel Palmeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute. Samuel Corrêa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 95th match minute, Varginha EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Fernandez to maneuver through the defense. Varginha EC walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
