With a couple of smart ball manuevers Célio Dionísio in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Vágner Vidal saved Red Devils F.C. from getting behind. In the 11th match minute, Red Devils F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Flávio Félix to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Red Devils F.C.'s zone, Célio Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vágner Vidal came out of the goal and Célio Dionísio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Célio Dionísio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Vágner Vidal having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Afonso Paes got free with Luciano Vargas in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Paulinho Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Luciano Vargas was out of position in the 24 minute of play, and Marquinhos Breckenfeld capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Marquinhos Breckenfeld really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Afonso Paes kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Oswaldo Pires struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Luciano Vargas didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Red Devils F.C.. After a defensive mix-up in Venceslau SC's zone, Marquinhos Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luciano Vargas came out of the goal and Marquinhos Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 played minutes Venceslau SC got a freekick which was hit by Valdir Saldanha. After having played for 45 minutes, Afonso Paes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Red Devils F.C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Afonso Paes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulinho Vidal made a kick off. After 58 played minutes Venceslau SC got a freekick which was hit by Durvalino Fontes. In the 60th minute Marquinhos Breckenfeld shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luciano Vargas saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afonso Paes in the 64th minute of play forced Venceslau SC's goalkeeper Luciano Vargas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 69 played minutes Red Devils F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Didi Paes. After a defensive mix-up in Red Devils F.C.'s zone, Célio Dionísio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Red Devils F.C.'s Vágner Vidal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Red Devils F.C. from getting a goal against them.
