The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 4 minutes of play, Tayobeiras's Marco Trancoso made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Severino de Almeida was left in no man's land by his defense there! Caco Dantas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 7th minute. If Caco Dantas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 26th minute, Manolo Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caco Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário de Almeida having to interfere. In the 30thth minute of the game Caco Dantas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tayobeiras's Mário de Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Caco Dantas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marvai's Caco Dantas got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Caco Dantas was the one to do the kick off. Mário de Almeida was a little too slow when Rodriguinho de Castro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 1-1. Caco Dantas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 63rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Caco Dantas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mário de Almeida having to interfere. A collision led to Tayobeiras getting a freekick after 67 minutes play. Vitório Prado hit a great ball. João Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Severino de Almeida tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tales Leal hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Tayobeiras's Mário de Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Dantas in the 80th minute of play. In the 84th match minute, Marvai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dênis Paraíba to maneuver through the defense. Marvai were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
