After 18 played minutes Ipuarana got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Baptista. In the 20th minute, Romeu Castro reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of José Lara. The goal made the score 2-1. Flavinho Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gugu Neves in the 25th minute of play. 26 minutes into the game, Ipuarana's Almir do Vale nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Flavinho Vaz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 31 minutes into the match, Paulão Salgado notched a goal, 3-2, to the right of Ipuarana's José Lara. In the 43rd minute, Almir do Vale got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Flavinho Vaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu Neves's shot from short distance in the 48th minute.

The wind increased when Romeu Castro made the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute the ball was on its way in behind Horizonte Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Flavinho Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 64th match minute, Horizonte Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tostão Pinho to maneuver through the defense. Almir do Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Flavinho Vaz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Flavinho Vaz was a little too slow when Almir do Vale got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 67th minute. The score was now 3-3. Flavinho Vaz made a fantastic save in the 71st minute, when Gugu Neves sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, Horizonte Futebol Clube's Flavinho Vaz got control of the ball when Gugu Neves tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 72 played minutes Horizonte Futebol Clube got a freekick which was hit by Ademar da Silva. If Romeu Castro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cauan Branco charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cauan Branco the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 81 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Horizonte Futebol Clube! Flavinho Vaz had in the 83rdth minute some difficulties stopping Fellipe Cruz's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. 86 minutes in the game, Almir do Vale fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Flavinho Vaz having to interfere. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
