Betão Sampaio recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Betão Sampaio in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luís Sarmento saved Maracuja from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Maracuja's zone, Betão Sampaio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Sarmento came out of the goal and Betão Sampaio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 29 minutes, Cláudio Paes made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Jaozeiro SC's Jacinto Nunes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Flávio Oliveira's late challenge caught a Jaozeiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Flávio Oliveira helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Maracuja's Flávio Oliveira got a free kick in the 32nd minute. Nicolas Carioca might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Sarmento. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nicolas Carioca ran back to his position shaking his head. Vinícius Valle's late challenge caught a Jaozeiro SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Otávio Bezerra hit a great ball. Jacinto Nunes was out of position in the 39 minute of play, and Jeremias dos Santos capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Jeremias dos Santos really showed his touch with that goal: 3-2. Maracuja's Cláudio Paes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Maracuja's Jeremias dos Santos in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Jaozeiro SC's goalie prevented a goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicolas Carioca stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Through an outstanding action, after 54 minutes, Luís Sarmento successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
