After a rather tough play, Engenheiros Químicos PE's Paulinho Primavera got a free kick in the 2nd minute. Claudinho Capixaba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodolfo Simão having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Valle in the 13th minute of play forced Liverpool's goalkeeper Danilo Proença to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Paulinho Primavera charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Paulinho Primavera the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. During the 19th minute of the match Paulinho Primavera completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulinho Primavera a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Paulinho Primavera hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Alberto Valle received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Danilo Proença tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Claudinho Capixaba got free with Rodolfo Simão in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Agnaldo Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 32nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Agnaldo Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 41st minute, Alberto Valle left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Engenheiros Químicos PE fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Serginho Alcântara to strike the kick off in the second half. Rodolfo Simão made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Serginho Alcântara in the 58th minute of play. Rodolfo Simão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Serginho Alcântara, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alberto Valle was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 64th minute. Engenheiros Químicos PE's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. In the 75thth minute of the game Serginho Alcântara who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Engenheiros Químicos PE's Rodolfo Simão was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Claudinho Capixaba in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rodolfo Simão saved Engenheiros Químicos PE from getting behind. Alberto Valle charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Alberto Valle the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 78th minute, Alberto Valle hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Liverpool's Serginho Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 81st minute Claudinho Capixaba shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Simão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
