After 74 minutes, Jarbas Mendonça mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético PR and the Algeria AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 76th minute, Atlético PR's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Elder Luz fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. 78 minutes in the game, Elder Luz fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Cássio Schmidt having to interfere. Algeria AD's Elder Luz was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 83rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. Algeria AD's Noel Motta got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 89 minutes into the game, Noel Motta recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Cássio Schmidt. Noel Motta showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3.
