Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Elói Maranhense started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. 3 minutes into the game, Simão Quadros was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lindeza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cruzeiro EC the free kick. In the 4th minute, Bruninho Paulista sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Lindeza's Denílson Carioca didn't even have to move. Cruzeiro EC's Gildo Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Elói Maranhense in the 6th minute of play. The supporters of Lindeza booed when Cruzeiro EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcos Arruda didn't get a good kick on the ball. 11 minutes into the game, Rafael Lima was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cruzeiro EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lindeza the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, Lindeza's Erik Teles tried to score from far away in the 12th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Lindeza's Fiori Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Elói Maranhense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lindeza's supporters rose to their feet, but Elói Maranhense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gildo Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 28th match minute, Lindeza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. Bruninho Paulista was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 29th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aírton de Mendonça during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 34th minute, Manoel Passos got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gildo Medeiros came out of the goal in the 36th minute to try and stop a shot by Lindeza's Fiori Barreto. But to his dismay, Fiori Barreto quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Denílson Carioca was out of position in the 40 minute of play, and Armandinho Urbano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Armandinho Urbano really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. Elói Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thiago da Cunha kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

In the 59th minute Elói Maranhense shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gildo Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the game, Luiz Fabiano Marquez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. If Armandinho Urbano had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 72nd match minute, Lindeza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Thiago da Cunha to maneuver through the defense. 75 minutes into the match, Lindeza's goal looked a bit too open when Manoel Passos came free, but Denílson Carioca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Denílson Carioca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Armandinho Urbano, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Manoel Passos in the 87th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Denílson Carioca saved Lindeza from getting behind. In the 90th match minute, Cruzeiro EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Pena to maneuver through the defense. Gildo Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erik Teles, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Manoel Passos in the 93rd minute of play forced Lindeza's goalkeeper Denílson Carioca to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
