After having played for 3 minutes, Gilberto Fontes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Minduri's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Fontes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 5 minutes into the match, Leões Do Deserto's goal looked a bit too open when Nelsinho Vale came free, but Fabinho Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 5 minutes into the match, Nelsinho Vale notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Leões Do Deserto's Fabinho Sergipano. Fabinho Sergipano was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Fabinho Sergipano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gilberto Fontes's shot from short distance in the 7th minute. The Minduri fans' excitement grew in the 9th match minute when Minduri's Gilberto Fontes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 12 minutes into the match, Leões Do Deserto's goal looked a bit too open when Gilberto Fontes came free, but Fabinho Sergipano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 16th minute, Gilberto Fontes made a precise shot to the right of Fabinho Sergipano. Leões Do Deserto's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nelsinho Vale in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabinho Sergipano prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kléber de Amaral lost his temper 24 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 26th minute there was a penalty for Minduri. Nelson Moreira stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Fabinho Sergipano. 0-4. Maurício Faustino hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Gilberto Fontes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabinho Sergipano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fabinho Sergipano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gilberto Fontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Gustavo Vargas kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. In the 42nd minute, Nelsinho Vale left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minduri fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-5. After 46 played minutes Leões Do Deserto got a freekick which was hit by Gustavo Vargas. After the first half Minduri were leading 0-5. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Rômulo Gaúcho got free with Fabinho Sergipano in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee gave Leões Do Deserto a penalty, 56 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hélder Siqueira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Minduri's Baltazar Damião. 1-5. With his leg Fabinho Sergipano managed to avoid a goal in the 62ndth minute, when Minduri's Gilberto Fontes fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. If Gilberto Fontes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Minduri's Rômulo Gaúcho got a free kick in the 67th minute. Fabinho Sergipano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelsinho Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 77 played minutes Leões Do Deserto got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Neiva. Elivélton Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nelsinho Vale in the 88th minute of play forced Leões Do Deserto's goalkeeper Fabinho Sergipano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gilberto Fontes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Fabinho Sergipano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 96th minute Gustavo Vargas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Baltazar Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Minduri's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
