The supporters of Niterói FC booed when Magno was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 13 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fernando de Moraes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niterói FC's Artur Dias played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafinha Galvão in the 15th minute of play. In the 16th minute, Niterói FC's Vitinho Miranda ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Oséas Reis. Oséas Reis yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. With a little luck, Magno's Oséas Reis got control of the ball when Vinícius Salgado tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 28th minute, Vinícius Salgado reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Oséas Reis. The goal made the score 3-0. Afonsinho Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Artur Dias having to interfere. In the 45th minute Afonsinho Vale shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Artur Dias saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Niterói FC's zone, Rafinha Galvão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Artur Dias came out of the goal and Rafinha Galvão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Afonsinho Vale made the kick off in the second half. Rafinha Galvão took the ball and in the 52 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Artur Dias. Artur Dias dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. Ricardo Ceresso kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. Artur Dias took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afonsinho Vale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Artur Dias managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Magno's Rafinha Galvão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Afonsinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 65th minute Vinícius Salgado shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Oséas Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vitinho Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Oséas Reis having to interfere. Afonsinho Vale sent away a hard shot on goal in the 69th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
