Gernando Maranhense was slow to take the kick. During this time Arapapa AD's players had a chance to rest. Cássio Braga made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Renatinho Rosa in the 11th minute of play. Osvaldo Loyola was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Silvério Soares. Kiko Simão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Osvaldo Loyola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kiko Simão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Mônaco F.C getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Arthur Cosme hit a great ball. Serginho Vidal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldo Loyola having to interfere. In the 47th minute of the match Diogo Linhares sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cássio Braga skillfully saved the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cacá Furlan to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Arapapa AD's goalkeeper Cássio Braga, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Osvaldo Loyola took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cacá Furlan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tiaguinho Vargas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a little luck, Arapapa AD's Cássio Braga got control of the ball when Renatinho Rosa tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cacá Furlan in the 70th minute of play forced Mônaco F.C's goalkeeper Osvaldo Loyola to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 71 minutes into the match, Arapapa AD's goal looked a bit too open when Tiaguinho Vargas came free, but Cássio Braga reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Osvaldo Loyola showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cacá Furlan in the 78th minute of the match. The supporters of Mônaco F.C booed when Arapapa AD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gernando Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Mônaco F.C's Diogo Linhares got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 97th minute, Renatinho Rosa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Cássio Braga was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mônaco F.C walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
