Oscar Vale hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Santiago Raptors FC's Gino Varela got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 24th minute Marquinhos Gonçalves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Valdemar Bertassi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Santiago Raptors FC's zone, Horácio Abraão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Valdemar Bertassi came out of the goal and Horácio Abraão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 28 minutes into the match, Marquinhos Gonçalves had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdemar Bertassi. Santiago Raptors FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Marquinhos Gonçalves was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Santiago Raptors FC's João Francisco Catarinense shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 32nd minute of play. The shot was stopped by César de Amaral but with some difficulty. In the 36thth minute of the game Marquinhos Gonçalves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Santiago Raptors FC's Valdemar Bertassi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 38 minutes into the match, Horácio Abraão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Valdemar Bertassi. Santiago Raptors FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Horácio Abraão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When Marquinhos Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the athletico Saj fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marquinhos Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. After the first half athletico Saj were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Albertino Brito made the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Wilian Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but César de Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Valdemar Bertassi made an important save on a dangerous shot by Horácio Abraão in the 53rd minute. Rubens Félix charged in rather forcefully in the 60th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Rubens Félix the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 61st match minute, Santiago Raptors FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Félix to maneuver through the defense. 65 minutes into the match, athletico Saj's goal looked a bit too open when Albertino Brito came free, but César de Amaral reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Albertino Brito might have been able to make a better finish in the 68th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over César de Amaral. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Albertino Brito ran back to his position shaking his head. Horácio Abraão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Bertassi having to interfere. If Benê Sá had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Santiago Raptors FC's Valdemar Bertassi got control of the ball when Horácio Abraão tried to sneak it across the goal line. A collision led to Santiago Raptors FC getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Dionísio Lopes hit a great ball. A hard shot 82 in the game by Horácio Abraão from a close distance when the talented Valdemar Bertassi managed to make a qualified save. Santiago Raptors FC's players were relieved. Santiago Raptors FC's Valdemar Bertassi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago Raptors FC from getting a goal against them. Valdemar Bertassi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Horácio Abraão showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-3 in the 87 minute of play. Horácio Abraão could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Valdemar Bertassi made a huge save. Marquinhos Gonçalves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Bertassi having to interfere. Benê Sá fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 95th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Bertassi having to interfere. Santiago Raptors FC's Valdemar Bertassi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 96th minute of the match, managed to save Santiago Raptors FC from getting a goal against them. The Santiago Raptors FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. athletico Saj were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
