Spectators: 7135 (Terracing: 5353, Seating: 1641, VIP seats: 141) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Marcos Cruz started the match with the kick off. After 4 played minutes Grussai got a freekick which was hit by Ademar Martins. Ernesto da Silva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Marcos Cruz in the 6th minute of play. Ernesto da Silva came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Grussai's Marcos Cruz. But to his dismay, Marcos Cruz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 10 minutes into the game, Fabiano Soares cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Ernesto da Silva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 18th minute, Edgar Vasconcelos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hermínio Lima in the 22nd minute of play forced Grussai's goalkeeper Betinho Cunha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match had been going on for 25 minutes, Fortaleza B's Durval Andrade got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Betinho Cunha. The supporters of Grussai booed when Fortaleza B was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Evandro Lopez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fabiano Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Ernesto da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 41 minutes into the game, Luisão Porto cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Ernesto da Silva was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After 45 minutes of play, Grussai's Marcos Cruz made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ernesto da Silva was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Fortaleza B players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Grussai were winning 1-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hermínio Lima was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Fortaleza B's zone, Marcos Cruz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernesto da Silva came out of the goal and Marcos Cruz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fabiano Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Marcos Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fabiano Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Ernesto da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Edgar Vasconcelos kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. Claudinei Severo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Edgar Vasconcelos during the 60th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Fortaleza B's Edgar Vasconcelos got a free kick in the 60th minute. Ernesto da Silva stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marcos Cruz's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Marcos Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Ernesto da Silva tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 65 minutes, Ademar Martins managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grussai's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Martins was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Betinho Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hélder Abraão, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Ernesto da Silva made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Fabiano Soares sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Marcos Cruz in the 77th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ernesto da Silva saved Fortaleza B from getting behind. If Hélder Abraão had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Marcos Cruz's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ernesto da Silva was relentless in the 85th minute of the game.
