Benedito Paraense kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Sandro Nunes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Sandro Nunes in the 27thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dé Paulista, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Dé Paulista made a fantastic save in the 37th minute, when Sandro Nunes sent off a good shot on target. In the 40th match minute, Araguaína FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Carlos Lucas to maneuver through the defense. Felipe Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Perivaldo Rossi in the 42nd minute of play. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Serginho Freitas made in the 52nd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Atletico Potiguar's Elder de Brito. Sandro Nunes took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dé Paulista. Dé Paulista dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. When Sandro Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Araguaína FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Nunes couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Atletico Potiguar getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Elder de Brito hit a great ball. When Sandro Nunes came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Araguaína FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sandro Nunes couldn't finish the play. In the 64th minute, Vinícius Alves got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Atletico Potiguar defense, Sandro Nunes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dé Paulista. The Atletico Potiguar fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dé Paulista should have stopped the shot. In the 71st minute Sandro Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dé Paulista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Araguaína FC's Serginho Freitas got a free kick in the 75th minute. Felipe Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Perivaldo Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute.
