If Jano Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Xuque EC's zone, Juvenal Breckenfeld stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Almir Pinheiro came out of the goal and Juvenal Breckenfeld tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tonhão Martinez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Almir Pinheiro having to interfere. In the 40thth minute of the game Tonhão Martinez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xuque EC's Almir Pinheiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Juvenal Breckenfeld came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Buritama FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juvenal Breckenfeld couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Buritama FC booed when Xuque EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomé Botelho didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Tiago Gabriel Ramos kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tony Martinez. That made the score 2-1 in the 46 minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tiago Gabriel Ramos made a kick off. The supporters of Xuque EC booed when Buritama FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anthony Martinez didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gilmar Loyola charged in rather forcefully in the 52nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Loyola the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Gilmar Loyola hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match.
