Spectators: 6148 (Terracing: 4475, Seating: 1673, VIP seats: 0) Capitari's Evaristo Gonçalves started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After having played for 4 minutes, Erasmo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Capitari booed when Palmeiras FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 7 match minutes in a wonderful position. William Simão didn't get a good kick on the ball. Agostinho Pirani recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Márcio Zanette made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Paulo Teles in the 11th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Agostinho Pirani's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Enéas da Cunha was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Erasmo Nunes struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Enéas da Cunha didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palmeiras FC. When Evaristo Gonçalves came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Capitari fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Evaristo Gonçalves couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Capitari's zone, Erasmo Nunes stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Enéas da Cunha came out of the goal and Erasmo Nunes tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Adrianinho Negri during the 24th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 24 played minutes Capitari got a freekick which was hit by Adrianinho Negri. When Capitari's Evaristo Gonçalves in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Palmeiras FC's goalie prevented a goal. In the 29th minute, Luís Paulo Teles left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capitari fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 33rd minute Erasmo Nunes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enéas da Cunha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Capitari's Enéas da Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Erasmo Nunes in the 34th minute of play. Evaristo Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Márcio Zanette showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Gonçalves, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Erasmo Nunes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Enéas da Cunha having to interfere. Luís Paulo Teles took the ball and in the 44 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Márcio Zanette. Márcio Zanette dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. A collision led to Palmeiras FC getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. William Simão hit a great ball. 50 minutes into the game, Osmar Diniz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Capitari's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palmeiras FC the free kick. After 50 played minutes Capitari got a freekick which was hit by Osmar Diniz. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Erasmo Nunes made the kick off in the second half. Capitari's Evaristo Gonçalves got a good chance for a goal in the 63rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With a little luck, Palmeiras FC's Márcio Zanette got control of the ball when Luís Paulo Teles tried to sneak it across the goal line. Enéas da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Luís Paulo Teles recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 67th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Luís Paulo Teless short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Márcio Zanette to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Enéas da Cunha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Erasmo Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Evaristo Gonçalves in the 76th minute of play forced Palmeiras FC's goalkeeper Márcio Zanette to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Enéas da Cunha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Erasmo Nunes in the 82nd minute of play. 87 minutes into the match, Palmeiras FC's goal looked a bit too open when Evaristo Gonçalves came free, but Márcio Zanette reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 88 minutes, Erasmo Nunes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Palmeiras FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Erasmo Nunes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Luís Paulo Teles could shoot a difficult shot in the 98th minute, which Márcio Zanette however easily saved by the left post. The Capitari players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
