João Guedes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lauro Ramalho got free with João Guedes in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 13th minute, Virgílio Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Fábio Moraes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 15th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th match minute, Panema was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luiz Fabiano Leão to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to MARAJA getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Amílton Monteiro hit a great ball. João Guedes was out of position in the 26 minute of play, and Luís Fábio Moraes capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Luís Fábio Moraes really showed his touch with that goal: 3-0. After a rather tough play, Panema's Luiz Fabiano Leão got a free kick in the 29th minute. Virgílio Queirós recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Luís Fábio Moraes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauro Ramalho struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. João Guedes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for MARAJA. Luís Fábio Moraes might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Guedes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luís Fábio Moraes ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 45th minute, Luís Fábio Moraes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

João Guedes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Geovânio Souza in the 52nd minute of the match. Luís Fábio Moraes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Guedes having to interfere. After having played for 55 minutes, Edvaldo Magalhães managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MARAJA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edvaldo Magalhães was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. João Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luís Fábio Moraes in the 61st minute of play. Váldson Matorin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Alvarenga having to interfere. MARAJA's Délio Sampaio was substituted for Luís Fábio Moraes. Délio Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Guedes having to interfere. In the 71st minute, Luiz Fabiano Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 73 minutes, Délio Sampaio made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Panema's João Guedes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. MARAJA's Délio Sampaio got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Délio Sampaio sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cássio de Lara might have been able to make a better finish in the 82nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over João Guedes. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cássio de Lara ran back to his position shaking his head. João Guedes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Délio Sampaio in the 83rd minute of play. In the 85th minute Délio Sampaio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but João Guedes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. MARAJA's Virgílio Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Délio Sampaio fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without João Guedes having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Geovânio Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
