Renato Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ronaldão Pitta having to interfere. After having played for 29 minutes, Juvenal Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Alagoano's supporters crossed their fingers, but Juvenal Alcântara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Faustão Saldanha during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st match minute, Atlético Alagoano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Faustão Saldanha to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of FC Lottos booed when Atlético Alagoano was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emerson Mello didn't get a good kick on the ball. Atlético Alagoano's Paulinho Trigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ronaldo Silveira in the 92nd minute of play. Claudinei Severo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 95th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match was over Atlético Alagoano could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than FC Lottos throughout the match.
