The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Murillo Damião recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adalmo Branco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 24 minutes into the game, Paulinho Braga cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Luizinho Recife was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emílio Pena during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Luizinho Recife was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Paulinho Braga showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-2 in the 73 minute of play. Adalmo Branco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 84thth minute tested the skills of Luizinho Recife when he managed to save the team from getting behind. If Paulinho Braga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lauro Cordeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Júnior Coutinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Heltai Sports's goalkeeper Luizinho Recife, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
