Paulão Mesquita came out of the goal in the 6th minute to try and stop a shot by Pardinho's Pedro Luís Queiroz. But to his dismay, Pedro Luís Queiroz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After having played for 13 minutes, Agenor Rossi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pardinho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Agenor Rossi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Custódio Alvarenga came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Paulão Mesquita could save by the left post. Agenor Rossi sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pedro Luís Queiroz's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Paulão Mesquita firmly grabbed it by the left post. Raí Meira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ramiro Torres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Paulão Mesquita showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agenor Rossi, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agenor Rossi in the 37th minute of play forced Pará's goalkeeper Paulão Mesquita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Pará! Pará:s Paulão Mesquita showed great skill when he stopped Custódio Alvarenga:s penalty. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Paulão Mesquita showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agenor Rossi in the 63rd minute of the match. Pedro Luís Queiroz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Pardinho's Agenor Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 82nd minute, Agenor Rossi made a precise shot to the right of Paulão Mesquita. Pará's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. If Pedro Luís Queiroz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pardinho's Agenor Rossi got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Denílson Carvalho during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 89th minute, Denílson Carvalho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Custódio Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
