Remo Simões was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Lúcio Paulista. If João Vítor Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Remo Simões took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Rossi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Tales Rocha came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Xanere SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tales Rocha couldn't finish the play.
