In the 9th minute, Egídio Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cavalo negro's Caetano Queiroz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Cavalo negro from getting a goal against them. Egídio Brito could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Caetano Queiroz made a huge save. Caetano Queiroz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Aníbal Amaral in the 17th minute. If Douglas de Lima had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geovanni Cavalcante was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 31 minutes into the match. When the match had been going on for 32 minutes, Xiru FC's Egídio Brito got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Caetano Queiroz. Xiru FC's Egídio Brito got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 41 played minutes Xiru FC got a freekick which was hit by Gilberto Alcântara. Gonçalo Severo struck a weak shot in the 42nd minute. Gláuber de Almeida didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavalo negro. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Egídio Brito was the one to do the kick off. Aníbal Amaral struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Caetano Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Xiru FC. Caetano Queiroz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Egídio Brito's shot from short distance in the 54th minute. 56 minutes into the match, Aníbal Amaral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Caetano Queiroz. Cavalo negro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Aníbal Amaral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. If Gonçalo Severo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 62nd match minute, Xiru FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Alcântara to maneuver through the defense. A hard shot by Fiori Mendes from long distance, 63 minutes into the match, got Gláuber de Almeida's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Luís Paulo Barbosa's late challenge caught a Cavalo negro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Luís Paulo Barbosa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Xiru FC's Luís Paulo Barbosa got a free kick in the 66th minute. Xiru FC's Gláuber de Almeida proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Xiru FC from getting a goal against them. Egídio Brito took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Caetano Queiroz. Caetano Queiroz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. 78 minutes into the match, Egídio Brito notched a goal, 5-0, to the right of Cavalo negro's Caetano Queiroz. Caetano Queiroz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Aníbal Amaral blasted a shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Caetano Queiroz having to make a save. If Aníbal Amaral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 97th minute Aníbal Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Caetano Queiroz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Xiru FC had played much better football throughout.
