Dino Monteiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luiz Paulo Ferraz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dino Monteiro ran back to his position shaking his head. 15 minutes into the match, Leicester City FC's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Prestes came free, but Luiz Paulo Ferraz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Brejauba SS getting a freekick after 20 minutes play. Zé Augusto Britto hit a great ball. After 21 minutes of play, Leicester City FC's Dênis Mineiro made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Cícero Madureira was left in no man's land by his defense there! Dino Monteiro struck a weak shot in the 25th minute. Luiz Paulo Ferraz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brejauba SS. After a rather tough play, Brejauba SS's Zé Augusto Britto got a free kick in the 30th minute. Luiz Paulo Ferraz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adelino Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. Brejauba SS's Dino Monteiro got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The audience was convinced that Dino Monteiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Luiz Paulo Ferraz was relentless in the 51st minute of the game.
