Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Caetano de Souza kicked off to start the match. After a rather tough play, Barras EC's Sandro Antunes got a free kick in the 3rd minute. 7 minutes into the match, Heliopolis's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Valladares came free, but Delfim Mendes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maurinho Ramos's late challenge caught a Heliopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Maurinho Ramos helped the player get up and apologised. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Barras EC's goalkeeper Ediberto Motta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caetano de Souza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luís Valladares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Delfim Mendes having to make a save. In the 21st minute, Oséas Zanette hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Valladares in the 23rd minute of play forced Heliopolis's goalkeeper Delfim Mendes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Oséas Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Delfim Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 28th match minute, Heliopolis was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Roberto Pombal to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Heliopolis getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Anísio Vides hit a great ball. After 31 minutes, Luís Valladares made it 0-1 with a short kick to the right side. Heliopolis's Delfim Mendes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Giovanni Gonçalves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Ediberto Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Luís Valladares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Heliopolis getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Fred das Neves hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Caetano de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ediberto Motta saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Barras EC booed when Heliopolis was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anísio Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luís Valladares to strike the kick off in the second half. After taking down the ball on Barras EC's corner Marcelinho Paranaense fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Delfim Mendes quite easily take care of the ball. Luís Valladares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Oséas Zanette received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Delfim Mendes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Waldemar Gonçalves recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 62nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Oséas Zanette got free with Delfim Mendes in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 68 played minutes Heliopolis got a freekick which was hit by Anísio Vides. In the 71st minute, Heliopolis's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Oséas Zanette fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 73 played minutes Heliopolis got a freekick which was hit by Zé Roberto Pombal. Adalberto Prestes's late challenge caught a Heliopolis's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adalberto Prestes helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, one of Barras EC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Barras EC. Caetano de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ediberto Motta. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Caetano de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 93rd minute, Anísio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luís Valladares got in the 94th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Delfim Mendes handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. A collision led to Heliopolis getting a freekick after 98 minutes play. Fiori Monteiro hit a great ball. Barras EC's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
