The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Manguba AD booed when Toca do Indio was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alessandro de Medeiros didn't get a good kick on the ball. Henrique Cavalcante recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Eduardo Paraíba in the 20th minute of play forced Manguba AD's goalkeeper Joaquin Chinto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Guga Vinhas took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristiano Aguiar. Cristiano Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. In the 26th match minute, Manguba AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Humberto Lucas to maneuver through the defense. Aírton Massa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Cristiano Aguiar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Cristiano Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Cavalcante in the 31st minute of the match. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Guga Vinhas sped through Toca do Indio's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Cristiano Aguiar. After the first half Manguba AD were leading 0-4. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Luiz Eduardo Paraíba stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Henrique Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cacá Pombal kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Guga Vinhas got free with Cristiano Aguiar in the 69th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Henrique Cavalcante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Luiz Eduardo Paraíba came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Toca do Indio fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luiz Eduardo Paraíba couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Manguba AD getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Tiaguinho Sá hit a great ball. Norberto Moreira kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. Cristiano Aguiar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Henrique Cavalcante in the 82nd minute of the match. A hard shot 83 in the game by Guga Vinhas from a close distance when the talented Cristiano Aguiar managed to make a qualified save. Toca do Indio's players were relieved. In the 86th minute Norberto Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Chinto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guga Vinhas took the ball and in the 87 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristiano Aguiar. Cristiano Aguiar dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-7. With a little luck, Toca do Indio's Cristiano Aguiar got control of the ball when Guga Vinhas tried to sneak it across the goal line. Guga Vinhass short, quick shot in the 93rdth minute got Cristiano Aguiar to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in.
