The crowd rose to their feet as Paulo Luz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Flavinho Tande. That made the score 2-0 in the 19 minute of play. 22 minutes into the match, Teresina FC's goalkeeper Flavinho Tande had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edu Mazza. jogo aonde fc's Zé Carlos Salgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jânio de Lima in the 26th minute of play. Zé Carlos Salgado didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Laércio Mangueira went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 37 minutes, Jânio de Lima managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Teresina FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jânio de Lima was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Chicão Donato charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Chicão Donato the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Chicão Donato hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Jânio de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teresina FC's Jânio de Lima got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Flavinho Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nilton Costa in the 48th minute of the match. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jânio de Lima made a kick off. Nilton Costa kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Tiago Gabriel da Rocha hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by jogo aonde fc's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Osvaldinho Pena was slow to take the kick. During this time Teresina FC's players had a chance to rest. Laércio Mangueira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Zé Carlos Salgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Zé Carlos Salgado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jânio de Lima, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. After a defensive mix-up in jogo aonde fc's zone, Jânio de Lima stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Carlos Salgado came out of the goal and Jânio de Lima tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Laércio Mangueira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
