Válter Alagoano came out of the goal in the 16th minute to try and stop a shot by Condeuba's Pedrinho Botelho. But to his dismay, Pedrinho Botelho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Pedrinho Botelho took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Válter Alagoano. Válter Alagoano dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After a defensive mix-up in Portel's zone, Luiz Paulo Gerber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válter Alagoano came out of the goal and Luiz Paulo Gerber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Condeuba booed when Portel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Oséas Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pedrinho Botelho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Válter Alagoano tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Samuca Toledo was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Condeuba's goal looked a bit too open when Guto Fantini came free, but David Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Válter Alagoano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedrinho Botelho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Pedrinho Botelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Condeuba's Pedrinho Botelho in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Portel's goalie prevented a goal. Válter Alagoano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Olavo Fernandez got free with Válter Alagoano in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the match was over Condeuba could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Portel throughout the match.
