Juvenal Bertassi showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Márcio Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osvaldinho Seco having to interfere. In the 77th of the match, Clóvis Maia tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Osvaldinho Seco got in the way and made a wonderful save. Germano Monteiro charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down.
