In the 12th minute Thiago Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Renato Catarinense made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Márcio Maranhense sent off a good shot on target. The supporters of S.C Corinthians booed when Mirahy was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gino Ferreira didn't get a good kick on the ball. 20 minutes into the game, Mirahy's Joélson Tepedino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Otávio Saldanha made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Otávio Saldanha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joélson Tepedino, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 26th minute, Thiago Leme made a precise shot to the right of Otávio Saldanha. S.C Corinthians's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. S.C Corinthians's Otávio Saldanha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joélson Tepedino in the 30th minute of play. The referee ignored Mirahy's protests and gave Wiliam Mangueira a yellow card for diving instead. Wiliam Mangueira hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. Isaltino Arce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Renato Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Isaltino Arce scored 1-3 in the 44th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Renato Catarinense, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot.

The wind increased when Isaltino Arce made the kick off in the second half. Mirahy's Renato Catarinense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Clóvis Maia in the 52nd minute of play. Rui Cardoso could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Otávio Saldanha made a huge save. 58 minutes into the match, Mirahy's goal looked a bit too open when Isaltino Arce came free, but Renato Catarinense reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 minutes, Zé da Mata mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mirahy and the S.C Corinthians players grew even worse after the yellow card. Eurico Rodrigues, 60 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Otávio Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Joélson Tepedino sent off a good shot on target. Isaltino Arce's late challenge caught a Mirahy's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Isaltino Arce helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, S.C Corinthians's Isaltino Arce got a free kick in the 66th minute. Otávio Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Thiago Leme in the 75th minute of play. Renato Catarinense didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Isaltino Arce went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. 85 minutes into the match, S.C Corinthians's goalkeeper Otávio Saldanha had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Joélson Tepedino. Márcio Maranhense sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thiago Leme in the 90th minute of play forced S.C Corinthians's goalkeeper Otávio Saldanha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Otávio Saldanha made a fantastic save in the 93rd minute, when Wiliam Mangueira sent off a good shot on target. In the 96th minute Thiago Leme shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Otávio Saldanha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mirahy's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
