Spectators: 6677 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1677, VIP seats: 0) Hélio Vale started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Coquiero's Duarte Medeiros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hélio Vale in the 5th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Simão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandacaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Erivaldo Nunes kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Hélio Vale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Duarte Medeiros having to interfere. Duarte Medeiros came out of the goal in the 13th minute to try and stop a shot by Mandacaia's Narciso Lago. But to his dismay, Narciso Lago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Hortêncio Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With his leg Egídio de Andrade managed to avoid a goal in the 24thth minute, when Coquiero's Vicente Alcântara fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Simão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot. Mandacaia's supporters rose to their feet, but Simão de Sena was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Duarte Medeiros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Duarte Medeiros didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Hélio Vale went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 31st minute Hortêncio Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio de Andrade saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Egídio de Andrade showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Messias in the 33rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Hortêncio Messias kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Egídio de Andrade. That made the score 1-2 in the 34 minute of play. After 37 minutes, Silas Tande mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Coquiero and the Mandacaia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 37th match minute, Coquiero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Silas Tande to maneuver through the defense. 47 minutes into the match, Mandacaia's goalkeeper Egídio de Andrade had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Alcântara. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hortêncio Messias in the 48th minute of play forced Mandacaia's goalkeeper Egídio de Andrade to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Mandacaia were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hortêncio Messias was the one to do the kick off. Coquiero's Duarte Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Coquiero from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Mandacaia's Renan de Amaral got a free kick in the 60th minute. Hortêncio Messias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Egídio de Andrade tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Coquiero's Duarte Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Coquiero from getting a goal against them. If Vicente Alcântara had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Hortêncio Messias came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Coquiero fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Messias couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Coquiero's zone, Hélio Vale stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Duarte Medeiros came out of the goal and Hélio Vale tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 87 minutes, Simão de Sena managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mandacaia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Simão de Sena was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 88 minutes into the game, Silas Vieira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Coquiero's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mandacaia the free kick. After a rather tough play, Coquiero's Silas Vieira got a free kick in the 88th minute. Hélio Vale received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Duarte Medeiros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Coquiero's Eurico de Amorim got a free kick in the 93rd minute. 94 minutes into the game, one of Coquiero:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Isaltino Fernandes shot the penalty kick right outside the post. Egídio de Andrade showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vicente Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 99th minute. The Mandacaia supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Mandacaia would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
