Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Evaristo Vasconcelos got the match started through his kick off. If Edgard Quadros had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Flechas's zone, Evaristo Vasconcelos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Mendonça came out of the goal and Evaristo Vasconcelos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 12th minute, Tião Meirelles hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 14th minute, Evaristo Vasconcelos managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muribeca's supporters rose to their feet, but Evaristo Vasconcelos was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Edgard Quadros might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Anselmo Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edgard Quadros ran back to his position shaking his head. Anselmo Santos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jairo de Queiroz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Edgard Quadros came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the Flechas fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edgard Quadros couldn't finish the play. In the 24th minute Jairo de Queiroz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Anselmo Santos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Matorin kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. Flechas's Jairo de Queiroz managed to work through Muribeca's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Jairo de Queiroz dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Evaristo Vasconcelos received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Ricardo Mendonça tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ernesto Martins kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jairo de Queiroz made a kick off. If Evaristo Vasconcelos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 66 minutes of play Muribeca's Jacinto Dias was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Anselmo Santos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jairo de Queiroz in the 67th minute of the match. Alessandro Fantini recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Patrick Catarinense managed to get in a good position for a shot. Muribeca's supporters rose to their feet, but Patrick Catarinense was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Mendonça breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Patrick Catarinense blasted a shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Mendonça having to make a save. Patrick Catarinense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Mendonça having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Patrick Catarinense made a precise shot to the right of Ricardo Mendonça. Flechas's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Muribeca's Anselmo Santos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jairo de Queiroz in the 97th minute of play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Muribeca players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
