In the 16th minute Kléber de Andrade shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Borussia Dortmund's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kléber de Andrade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 32nd minute, Edmílson Pinheiro made a precise shot to the right of Amílton de Lima. R1ckz1nhos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Luís Fabiano Fantini charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. After a defensive mix-up in R1ckz1nhos's zone, Edmílson Pinheiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amílton de Lima came out of the goal and Edmílson Pinheiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 44 played minutes Borussia Dortmund's Edmílson Pinheiro stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Amílton de Lima stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing R1ckz1nhos of the goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Dito Silveira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Elias de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luiz Eduardo Nóbrega saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Kléber de Andrade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílton de Lima showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wanderson Senna in the 58th minute of the match. Borussia Dortmund's Edmílson Pinheiro got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Borussia Dortmund's Kléber de Andrade managed to work through R1ckz1nhos's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Kléber de Andrade dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Edmílson Pinheiro scored 3-0 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Amílton de Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 73 minutes into the match, Edmílson Pinheiro notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of R1ckz1nhos's Amílton de Lima. Amílton de Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Kléber de Andrade managed to get in a good position for a shot. Borussia Dortmund's supporters rose to their feet, but Kléber de Andrade was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Amílton de Lima breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 86th minute Edmílson Pinheiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Amílton de Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edmílson Pinheiro struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Amílton de Lima didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Borussia Dortmund. Amílton de Lima came out of the goal in the 90th minute to try and stop a shot by Borussia Dortmund's Kléber de Andrade. But to his dismay, Kléber de Andrade quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. 7-0 became the score in the 95th minute when Kléber de Andrade elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Borussia Dortmund's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
