Instituição Mercosul's Gilson Simão played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juvenal Prestes in the 58th minute of play. The referee ignored Instituição Mercosul's protests and gave Flávio Passos a yellow card for diving instead.
