Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Manfredo Dias started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Hélio Pernambucano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eliseu Paraíba having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rui Quirino in the 15th minute of play forced Jiju's goalkeeper Válter Dante to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Jiju's zone, Abelardo Botelho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Válter Dante came out of the goal and Abelardo Botelho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Agostinho de Lima sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rui Quirino scored 0-1 in the 24th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Válter Dante, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Válter Dante took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Manfredo Dias, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th match minute, Jiju was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Pedro de Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Lucas Saraiva, 30 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Escadinha's Eliseu Paraíba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Escadinha from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Jiju booed when Escadinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Negri didn't get a good kick on the ball. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hélio Pernambucano couldn't finish the play. Eliseu Paraíba showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agostinho de Lima in the 87th minute of the match. Rui Quirino could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 88th minute of the match, but Válter Dante made a huge save. Bruninho Faria kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. 94 minutes into the game, Manfredo Dias recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Válter Dante. Manfredo Dias showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. In the 98th minute Agostinho de Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eliseu Paraíba saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Escadinha supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Escadinha would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
