C.'s zone, Fernandão Gerber stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Angelo Arruda came out of the goal and Fernandão Gerber tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Fernandão Gerber during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Fernandão Gerber kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Edson Sousa had several of the Itatiayassu AD's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 7 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Romeu Coelho as he didn't even see the shot coming. Edson Sousa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 11th minute. Romeu Coelho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeu Coelho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kaká Sousa in the 15th minute of play. Angelo Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Itatiayassu AD's Eduardo Linares got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Linares in the 21st minute of play forced Rondonopolis E. C.'s goalkeeper Angelo Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 26 in the game by Edson Sousa from a close distance when the talented Romeu Coelho managed to make a qualified save. Itatiayassu AD's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Linares in the 28th minute of play forced Rondonopolis E. C.'s goalkeeper Angelo Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 34 played minutes Rondonopolis E. C. got a freekick which was hit by Elivélton Baiano. After 36 minutes of play, Itatiayassu AD's Eduardo Linares made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Arruda was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Fernandão Gerber came up free with the goalie in the 44th minute, the Itatiayassu AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Fernandão Gerber couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Fernandão Gerber was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Edson Sousa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Romeu Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Romeu Coelho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edson Sousa's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. After having played for 57 minutes, Eduardo Linares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itatiayassu AD's supporters crossed their fingers, but Eduardo Linares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernandão Gerber in the 60th minute of play forced Rondonopolis E. C.'s goalkeeper Angelo Arruda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Rondonopolis E. C.'s Edson Sousa in the 62nd minute got a chance for a shot 62nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The referee showed Juarês Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Juarês Koehler hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Angelo Arruda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernandão Gerber, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Fernandão Gerber had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Romeu Coelho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Márcio de Toledo in the 78th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Itatiayassu AD's Eduardo Linares got a free kick in the 79th minute. When Edson Sousa came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Rondonopolis E. C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Edson Sousa couldn't finish the play. 85 minutes into the match, Itatiayassu AD's goal looked a bit too open when Márcio de Toledo came free, but Romeu Coelho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the final whistle sounded Itatiayassu AD left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rondonopolis E. C..
